A Concert Reading
July 25-27, 2025
Our second pit stop brings us to Alexandria, Virginia, for a concert presentation of Built for This, a new musical about five fierce, young gymnasts confronting their inner demons — as well as a real-life demon preying on their youth, ambition and vulnerability.
After a celebrated workshop at Olney Theatre Center, music director Marika Countouris has worked with composer Kira Stone to build out the orchestrations of this electric and athletic score.
Presented at the Ainslie Arts Center of Episcopal High School.
